The army is downsizing and with it goes the Kiowa. This is one of the last photos I have of J with his helicopter. He now is transitioning to Chinooks but he is no longer an instructor for this aircraft. We will miss Daddy's fly-bys at lunch and out of the lake. Only Maycen will look to the skies and think that's my Dadda flying. Brody is barely aware of how cool his dad once was!
Although this news link refers mostly to our 4/6 CAV brothers it also affects the National guard fleet which is now composed of UH-60's and Chinooks.
